Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry is a congregational ministry that trains lay people to serve as care givers to people in need. Everyone goes through difficulties at times. When that happens, it is good to have someone who will extend the care of Jesus Christ to us. Stephen Ministry does that. It trains people to care for others to help them find the healing they need. Stephen Ministers are care givers; Jesus Christ is the cure giver.

People going through difficult times are matched up with a Stephen Minister. The Stephen Minister meets weekly with their care receiver. They listen, ask questions, and invite conversation. They remind their care receivers of the love of Jesus, praying with them and for them. Stephen Ministry is a proven way for churches to provide the healing touch of Jesus to those in need. Alps Road Presbyterian is happy to be able to offer Stephen Ministry to the congregation and people in the community.
